Deadline for submissions is Monday, March 25, 2024 by noon (note: Scholarship submissions will be accepted in the semester that they are due.)

Submissions not following these guidelines will not be considered.

  • Submission must include a cover sheet with your name, student ID, your status (undergraduate or graduate student), the title of the award you are applying for, and your email address.
  • Submit only 一个 entry per student.

  • Include the last 4 digits of your student ID# in the upper right hand corner of each 提交的页面.

Scholarships Available by Student Submission

  • Bonita米. Cox Award For Classical And Medieval 文学: 
    Awarded for outstanding achievement in classical or medieval studies. 收件人 will demonstrate achievement by writing the best paper addressing an arguable classical or medieval issue or theme in literature or history (e.g.但丁的用法 puts flower metaphors as an important structural element in the divine comedy). 的 essays may be on any topic and from any discipline. Preference shall be given to those essays that demonstrate a clear connection between the past (classical or medieval 时期)和现在.

    M一个tary award for best submitted poem. Open to any undergraduate or graduate student (6个单元或以上). This prize is judged by a distinguished poet not affiliated 与菠菜网lol正规平台. A maximum of three poems may be submitted; no longer than 150 lines each.

    Scholarship awarded to an 菠菜网lol正规平台 student majoring in 英语. 提交一篇基于 on American/Ethnic American 文学. Eligible students will be enrolled full time, 最少2个.5平均绩点, & 证明经济需要.

  • 的 Shirley Nelson Iverson Scholarship:
    To a freshman or junior 英语 major with intentions of becoming a high school teacher.
  • 的 Lois King Thore Scholarship Fund:
    To an 英语 Major who indicates they wish to pursue a degree in 英语 and shows promise in 短篇小说 writing.

  • Anne Lillis Memorial Scholarship Fund:
    To an 英语 major for excellence in Creative Writing with a preference for poetry.
  • 罗伯特·H. Woodward Memorial Scholarship:
    的 student must show significant achievement in research and scholarship in American 文学.
  • James Phelan Award for Criticism:
    Awarded to undergraduate and graduate students for verse and prose work produced in literary criticism and analysis.
  • James Phelan Award for Poetry:
    Awarded to undergraduate and graduate students for verse and prose work produced in 格律或自由诗.
  • James Phelan Award for Fiction Story:
    Awarded to undergraduate and graduate students for verse and prose work produced in 短篇小说.
